HANNOVER MESSE is an annual international industrial trade fair held at the Hannover Exhibition Grounds. It brings together key industrial sectors such as mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, the digital industry, and energy in one location. For providers and users in the fields of sensor and measurement technology, the Automation & Digitalization segment is particularly relevant. It covers areas including automation systems, the Industrial Internet of Things, industrial software, robotics, production logistics, industrial communication, and connected control technologies. Within the exhibition topic of automation systems and components, the focus also includes sensor technology, intelligent systems, programmable logic controllers, distributed control systems, SCADA systems, motion control, industrial PCs, embedded systems, and electric drives. HANNOVER MESSE also features the Smart Sensor and Measurement Technology Solution Center, where sensors and measurement solutions for applications such as process analysis, level measurement, pressure, ultrasound, temperature, and AI-supported systems are presented. The event’s measurement technology focus is therefore not that of a dedicated measurement equipment trade fair. Instead, it highlights sensors and measurement data as the foundation for connected production, automation, quality assurance, predictive maintenance, and industrial AI. According to the organizer, HANNOVER MESSE 2026 attracted around 3,000 exhibitors and 110,000 on-site visitors, while presenting more than 7,000 products and solutions and over 200 start-ups.
